Notes for Charles Harwood Bannister
Was close to brother Samuel. Both went to Chicago as boys (Charles about 14). Later, they went to Saskatchewan Canada to work on farms during threshing.

Notes from a phone conversation Loren Bannister had with father Charles (11/11/1984):

Charles born 10/8/1888 on the farm (likely Sectin 29 farm in DeKalb). Sometime between 1892 and 1897, rented out the farm and moved to Sycamore, where Charles remembers attending second grade. From 1904-1912, the family moved back ont the farm. Sometime in the range of 1901-1906, Charles and brother Sam lived in Chicago for a year to two. Then Charles and Sam began homesteading in Saskatchewan. Harwood sold section 29 farm in 1919 to George Fleming (3/7/1912).

Harwood’s father Mudgett was Solon Mudgett. Alice Mudgett was the dau of one of Solon’s sons.
