Obituary: True Republican, 21 July 1906
Peter Peterson died at his home, 615 South avenue in this city, on Friday morning of this week from diabetes abscess. He had always been strong until his last sickness, which was of about four months duration.
Mr. Peterson was born in Orebro, Sweden, on September 6, 1847. He came to America and Sycamore in 1870. In 1874 he was married to Miss Anna Holmgren, who survives. To them were born two children, of whom one died in infancy, and there is surviving one daughter, Mrs. Emily Oleson, of Sycamore.
Mr. Peterson was a machinist, and almost ever since his residence in America he was employed in the Sycamore shops. He was industrious and kindly and a respected citizen.
The funeral services will be held at the home on Sunday at 2 p.m., and will be conducted by the pastor of the Swedish Lutheran church, Rev. M. Frvkman. The interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
