Dorothy Harden, 81, of Clarence, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at the Samaritan Memorial Hospital in Macon, Mo. Born August 19, 1922, in Arbyrd, Mo., daughter of the late Edward L. and Bessie Maud Hogland Harrison, she was a member of the New Life Chapel Church in Macon. On November 9, 1939, she married Claud B. Smith, who preceded her in death in 1961. She later married Vernon Harden in 1974, he preceded her in death in 1979. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Paula Smith and Judy Miller; one brother, Malcolm Harrison and two sisters, Peggy Hawkins and Verna Harrison. Survivors include seven children, Norma Wills, of Perryville, Mo., Nelda Stine, of Clarence, Marsha Roper, of Macon, Myra Hochstetler, of Laredo, Texas, Joe Smith, of Cartersville, Ga., Charla Forsythe, of Hartsville and Bart Bingham, of Elwood, Ind.; one sister, Nadine Dunnigan; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept.3, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Chapel. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard McGowan, Jeffrey Brown, Danny White, Dunny Oldfather, David Bryant and Todd Davis.
