Obituary - Jonesboro - Vera Madeline King, 87, she went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born January 17, 1922 in Lunsford to the late Lonnie and Sallie McGuffin. She was a homemaker and former employee of Pardew’s Department Store in Nettleton and was a member of the Nettleton United Methodist Church. She was active in the United Methodist Women’s Group and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Joy Bosche and a son, Lonnie E. King both of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Stephanie Patton of Jonesboro, Amy Culpepper of Garden City, Kansas, Melissa Battten of Tokyo, Japan, David Russell King of San Diego, California, Lindsey Bosche of Anderson, SC, Justin Bosche of Jonesboro; three great-grandchildren, Kirby McIntosh, Madeline McIntosh and Thomas Culpepper Jr.; two sisters, Lemma Gilliam of Jonesboro and Julie Catts of Kenniwick, Washington. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Harmon King; a son, David King and a brother, Lonnie McGuffin Jr. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 10.00 A.M. at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with Revs. Harmon Whitehurst and George Fink officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 11, 2009, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Tommy Carter, Tommy Carter Jr., Justin Bosche, Brooks Craven, T.W. Culpepper and Kirby McIntosh.
