There is a Frances Leighton bp. 1628 in Egton (67 miles from Whitby) but I don’t think he is the right one (due to distance and spelling). A Franciscus Lighton was buried in 1611 in South Cave. Could this be the father of this Francis Lighton? Seems like there is lots of Lighton activity in South Cave area at this time so this Francis is likely from the South Cave area.
