The Bragg Family BIble lists his birth year as 1765. If true he would be 34 years older than his wife and his age is understated on each census by 30 years. It would also mean that he was fathering children at the age of 81. Most likely, the birth year in the bible is in error. There are other significant errors in the bible for others in the family. SM is listed at born in 1855 although it is clear from census records and the order of children listed in the bible that she was born in 1835. Also, at least two of the children are listed in the wrong year as they and a sibling have birthdates separated by only a few months. Best assumption is that the month and day are correct but the year is wrong.
