The marriage record remains suspect as it occurs 48 miles from his home in Cottingham where so many of his children were born.

Update - Have now found that David Purdon was married in Whixley (44 miles from Beverley), Year was 1795. This eliminates #1 below. Age favors #2 over #3 or #4. Also, it appears that Beverly is a where our David lived most of his life.

1) David Porden 1783 in Beverly (6 miles from Cottingham), father David (but this would mean he was 18 when child Mary is born, young but possible.
