Source 1544 claims that the James born Mary 1669 also died May 1669. This casts doubt on James being the sone of Lott Killam and Hannah Goodale. Salem records bear this out.
Yet the fact that James names one of his sons Lott, makes me think that he may still be a son of Lott. Perhaps born later than the short-lived James. The Killam family did re-use the name Ruth after their first Ruth died.
As the parents did move to Connecticut, perhaps this is a later James born there, or born elsewhere in Massachusetts.
Success!! Source 1545 makes the tie of James to this family, indeed was born in Enfield in 1677.
