Who is this Eleanor?
Case solved. It cannot be Eleanor Worden. The Worden’s didn’t come to the US until 1637. And the marriage of Kenelm Winslow to Ann widow of John Adams is in 1634.

It seems widely agreed that Kenelm Winslow married Eleanor Adams the widow of John Adams. There is also evidence that John Adams married an Eleanor Newton who came in the Ann in 1623.
The Winslow Heritage Society Website shows Kenelm’s wife as Eleanor (Newton) Adams.
Possibility #1 - Eleanor’s maiden name was Newton and she has no relation to the Wardens.
Possibility #2 - John Adams married Eleanor Newton who then died. John Adams remarried Eleanor Worden. John Adams dies and then Eleanor Worden Adams marries Kenelm Winslow. This theory is supported by “Ellen the widow of Kenelm” being referenced at her death. The supposition being that Eleanor Worden went by Ellen after marrying John Adams to distinguish her from his first wife.
Possibility #3 - Eleanor Worden married a man named Newton who then died. As Eleanor Newton she then married John Adams who then died. As Eleanor Adams widow of John Adams, she then married Kenelm Winslow.
Proof is needed that Peter Worden I’s second daughter was Eleanor. “The Worden Surname….” book indicates that the second daughter was named Bridget and that she died in 1628 while in her 20’s.
Finally, a variation that might effect possibilities 2 and 3 above. Eleanor is the daughter of Margaret Grice’s first husband Anthony Wall and that she might have assumed the name Worden when Margaret remarried to Peter Worden I. This would allow for the possibility that Peter and Margaret’s second daughter was Bridget.
