Has a will in Greene County, Kentucky dated 10/26/1817 which was probated on 11/24/1817

Note on possible father Seymore Powell. It is tempting to name him as Thomas’s father as Seymore died in the same county (York) in which Thomas was married. And a Thomas is mentioned in Seymore’s will. Upon reading the will, however, it would seem that most of Seymore’s children are minors as he is concerned about their education and what trade/business they will pursue. Also, there is much language about “when they come of age” or “when they marry”. Further, none of the children are given any role such as Executor. Our Thomas Powell was married in 1772 and thus would have been at least 30 by the time Seymore died. Or, if the unproven birth year estimate (1744) of Thomas is true, he would have been 38 at Seymore’s death. His brothers and sisters would therefore nearly all be above age 21 in 1782 and this is inconsistent with the language of the wills. Conclusion: Seymore is not Thomas’ father.
