BEN L. WELCH, 85, father of MRS. A. W. HARRISON, MRS. ROY C. HOLLIMAN and ODUS WELCH, died Thursday at the home of his son, JOHN WELCH, at Gainesville, Texas. Born in Blue Mountain, Miss., April 13, 1859, Welch married MISS LOUVINA SAUNDERS in 1885. Other children who survived are MRS. GROOVER HUTCHINS, JOE and TOM WELCH. Among his descendants are 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A member of the Baptist Church, services will be Saturday at Harvey chapel, conducted by Rev. W. LEE RECTOR of the First Orthodox Baptist Church. Burial in Rose Hill will have LONNIE SIGMAN, W. L. KEETER, FOSTER W. HUNT, DAN WALKER, JAMES R. COX, and CLARENCE FEDLER as pallbearers.
