When savages invaded Haverhill, she saved herself and two of Rev. Rolfe’s children by hiding in the celler. The savages killed all others in the house but did not find her or the children in the cellar. Her mother remarried a Whitaker and she might have gone by the last name Whitaker before her marriage to John Hinds Jr.
