He enrolled trade school after he moved to St. Louis (about 1883) from St. Ferdinand. He studied jewelry engraving. In about 1887 worked at a jewelry store for $50/wk for 11 yrs. He promised his mother that the younger kids would finish school. He met his wife at a church picnic. He lived at 2704 Dodier St after marriage with his family. They all moved to 2421 N. 10th St. 12/26/1898. In 1902 he moved to 6721 Ridge Ave, Wellston, Mo. He was the first buyer of Geiger farm. In 1905 he and his brothers bought a jewelry business from Alfred Marshall in 1906. They moved the business to 3rd fl Equitable Bldg; known as Lott Bros.Jewelry Manufacturing Co. Moved to 6th & Olive at 79 years of age. Probate cse#029166
